I know, I know… what happened? How could I go so long without an update?
Is my commitment to cardigans waning??
Not at all.

As you can understand, life got incredibly busy, with my day job [I'm not so lucky as to have my blog be that yet ], travelling, and moving to a new place… I neglected Hug You Wear, along with many other important things.

So I hope to be back, to stay as consistent as I can with the things I care about!

Moving on, I adore the sweeping maxi cardigan, and am looking to find one that suits me. This Top Shop number is a high contender. The cozy knitted mohair is a perfectly stylish way to cocoon from the winter weather!

Quite the caper

Lately, I have been on the hunt for the perfect cape for this season. I like the shape, ease and quirkiness of a cape. But it has not been an easy task, and I am still on the look out.

It was nice to come across this Fine Gauge Cape Style Cardigan on ASOS. The oversized collar, toggle closure and wide cropped sleeve, gives it a feel of some of the best cape qualities– but in a cardigan!

It’s awesome to see more stores opening online shops– and not just the big chains, like Zara and the Gap Corp (well, their Canada site).
Best Behavior, a favourite line of The Perfect Pairing, out of Denmark has also opened a webshop! You can purchase items from SS09, AW09 and SS10. Their collections are consistently awesomely multifunctional, and always modern, feminine and accessible.

Be sure to check out the latest, SS11, collection when it becomes available, but some of my most recent faves are from AW10.

I have absolutely fallen for these Graphic Lace Jacquard pattern cardigans by Matthew Williamson. Worth saving up for.
The fair isle inspired design, in these two styles (the roll neck, and wrap), is especially clever with the ‘MW’ incorporated in to it.
Don’t you just want to wrap yourself in one of these while watching the leaves change colour in the crisp autumn air? Perfection.

Smartigan DIY

I do enjoy a good DIY, especially when it comes to cardigans.
So when my sister sent me this project for a little person’s “smartigan”, I just had to share!

The lovely woman at Just Another Day in Paradise blog shares both the steps to make the pattern and the sewing instructions.
This seems like a good endeavor for someone with moderate sewing skills– as the kids size craft makes it more manageable.

And the results? So adorable!

Cardigan connection

So remember back in June I gushed about the line CARDIGAN by Lynne Hiriak?
Well, thanks to Google alerts, or some other internet savvy, I just did hear back from from Lynne herself! How cool is that??

There seems to be a lot of exciting stuff happening at the line– a website re-launch in September and an extensive men’s line coming out. Below is one of my faves from the behind the scenes of their fall shoot (via Facebook)– its the Versailles sequined cardigan.

Falling again

I may have mentioned a couple of times that autumn is my favourite season, so I am excited about the September issues, and that it is closer than ever!

For this season affordable chic, Joe Fresh, has stepped it up with some amazing pieces, and a classically fall palette.

On the right is the classic cardigan, and on the right, the ribbed (only $19 and $39 respectively!), which come in plenty of colours, though I like this preppy military vibe– brown and green.

Also check out the Joe Fresh wool military jacket. It’s awesome.

I haven’t had an opportunity to post in a while, so I thought I would add a little extra for this one.
In addition to cardigans, I do adore handbags and nail varnish as style inspiration.

My latest fave polish is this sparkling matte black called Military by alice + olivia for MAC, and it was the perfect starting point for this trio. This beaded shrug from Top Shop is the ideal topper, and finally, this little Cole Haan crossbody bag, that The Perfect Pairing‘s sister spotted.

The Le Marais look

Earlier this season The Perfect Pairing zoomed her lens in to Paris’ Le Marais style.
Next, The Outnet did a trend alert feature on the Le Marais look.
It is great inspiration for putting together a relaxed, but sharp, parisian inspired outfit.
