Women power

March 8, 2010

Happy International Women’s Day!

There are so many women who I know, have known, and who I know about, that are inspirations– strong, smart, compassionate, funny, generous, creative, loving, fearless and effective.

On this day, I hope that I can thank them and remember them.
I hope everyone else can do the same for women in their lives.

We have certainly come a long way– there are many gains to celebrate– but still so much more to continue to organize & fight for alongside women and men who believe in equity, equality, choice & social justice.

In our workplaces, social circles, communities and in the way we approach the world, I hope we can confront systemic inequality wherever we see it, by ourselves and together.

It can be hard, but its worth it. We couldn’t be where we are if others hadn’t before us.
And we can’t imagine a better world if we don’t continue taking action.

KM Stitchery is an awesome line dedicated to eco friendly, ethical feminist fashion. These hand stenciled pieces celebrate some of the most incredible women icons.

Please look at our website, blog and purpose.. re: helping women stop breast cancer before it starts… as the breast cancer treatment and detection industry is not interested in limiting the number of women who get breast cancer. It is not their business.

Thanks for the kind words Susan, and for sharing your website.

This is such an important issue for all women to know about and talk about.

      All the best.
